It's Possible: A Dreamer's Manifesto to Overcome Opposition
“It's Possible: A Dreamer's Manifesto to Overcome Opposition” is an anthology featuring Marilyn Shaw, Sierra Rainge-Jones, Lynnette Phillips, Serita Love, April Imani-Smith and Marquitta Streeter.
In 2011, I was hospitalized after having a mental break. Prior to this, I was an ambitious, goal-oriented and hardworking millennial. I was raised in the church however, I had more faith in my works instead of God’s plan for me. This luke-warm faith planted a seed that ultimately led me to have a mental breakdown.
As a contributing author, I share how God took me on a journey to re-direct my faith through His word and therapy. In my chapter, The Build Up from Break Down, I share my story of:
Having obsessive faith in the wrong things
The dangers of being a luke-warm believer
My biblical survival tools of faith and therapy
I am forever grateful for the journey God placed me on of healing my mind and giving me the resources to sustain. I’ve become an advocate, through my story, to share how mental health and faith are one.
